We’ve been having such glorious weather and as we settle in for our first summer in the village, we’re planning to make the most of the longer, warmer days. We’ve freshened up our sandstone terrace with some smart new tables, clipped the lawn for families to enjoy and finished the last bits of planting. Egerton is an idyllic location any time of year, but the magnificent views look even better in the sunshine!
To complement the weather, we’ve just launched a new summer menu, packed with colourful seasonal dishes and exciting flavours. Alongside all your classic favourites, there are fresh summery salads, BBQ-inspired dishes cooked on our chargrill, refreshing fruity puds and local ice cream.
We’re also extremely excited to announce the launch of a new menu of sourdough pizzas, topped with local charcuterie, cheese, seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs. There’s the Lenham Hen, the Spicy Smarden and the Great Chart Goat… can you spot the theme? While everyone’s favourite summer treat is accompanied best with a jug of Pimm’s or glass of rosé in the sun, our pizzas are available for takeaway too!
As the days stretch out further, there’s plenty more on the horizon and we hope you’ll take the time to read about some of the events in our calendar below. You can also check our website to find out what we’re up to. Don’t forget, we’re now open from 9am every day and on Sunday evenings we’re open until 10pm, with the kitchen open until 9pm.
We’re thrilled that summer is now upon us and we’d like to thank everyone who’s supported our exciting venture and welcomed us into the community. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all and we look forward to continued happy relationships with everyone in the local area, as well as visitors from further afield.
We hope you’re enjoying the weather and some of the many pleasures that the Garden of England has on offer. We hope to see you soon!
