It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and we’re so looking forward to our first Christmas in Egerton. We’re enormously grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the community and we’ve been working hard to make the pub a warm and welcoming hub to match.
There’s a crackling open fire, mulled cider behind the bar and – for better or worse – the yuletide tunes are playing on repeat. We’ve also decked our halls in festive finery with a pretty spruce from Hole Park Gardens and some glorious garlands from florist Astilbe & Sorrel.
To make things extra cosy, the walls have been completed with the gorgeous work of local fine art photographer Lou Newsholme – if you’re looking to snap up a last minute pressie, these pics are perfect!
We can’t believe how busy this beautiful village is, especially at this time of year. It seems to be packed with fairs and festivities, carols and nativities – and we enjoyed meeting plenty of new people at the Egerton Christmas Fair earlier this month. The day’s highlight was the most gorgeous sunset setting over the South Downs we’ve ever seen.
Our Christmas menu seems to be getting everyone in a merry mood with everyone’s favourite festive flavours – chestnut, lobster, saffron, mince pies, and much much more! Our Barolo beef carpaccio will tickle any taste buds, while our royal roast is a three-bird triumph.
So, what else have we got in store? The Christmas calendar is packed with carolling, concerts and celebrations, long lazy lunches and libations. There’s more information about each exciting event below, so read on!
